Zdenka
Formed by Kiran Weston (Hong Kong) and Alexander Kelling (Glasgow), who met at Xaverian College in Manchester, Zdenka has since become a staple of the city’s underground scene. They’ve played sold-out shows at YES Manchester, recently toured with Marjua, and shared stages with Westside Cowboy, TTSSFU, and YAANG. Though the music is written and produced by the duo, their live show features a full band: George Belshaw (drums), Charlie Flowers (bass), and Emily Clarke (vocals, tambourine, stylophone). Their single "Deaths a funny friend" was named Track of the Week by BBC Introducing Manchester in May this year.
