Join us to celebrate 50 years since the reopening of Band on the Wall with a spectacular day of live music, and an archival exhibition showcasing our venue’s rich history. This milestone event features special guests, beloved local talent, and an unforgettable evening of soul, jazz, and hip-hop.
Part 1: Daytime Celebration | Free Entry | From 1:00 PM
Kick off the festivities with Apitos, the UK’s premier Latin jazz ensemble renowned for their vibrant tributes to Tito Puente and Poncho Sanchez. Regular performers at Band on the Wall from the 80’s until the early 2000s, Apitos also contributed to our education programs. Featuring Dave Hassell (timbales) and Andy Scott (saxophone), their dynamic percussion and horn section will set the stage ablaze.
Following Apitos, enjoy performances in the Copper Bar from Friends of Band on the Wall, featuring Hopalong Gretzky, alongside venue regulars Emma Taylor and more, delivering soulful and eclectic sets.

Part 2: Evening Show | £25 Advance Tickets | Doors 7:30 PM
The celebration continues with a night of soul, hip-hop, and jazz, headlined by Manchester’s finest: Children of Zeus and Secret Night Gang.
Children of Zeus, the dynamic duo of Konny Kon and Tyler Daley, bring their signature blend of UK street soul, R&B, and hip-hop. Since forming in 2015, their albums Travel Light and Balance have earned global acclaim for their lyrical honesty and timeless sound, shaping Manchester’s neo-soul scene.
Secret Night Gang, led by Kemani Anderson and Callum Connell, delivers an uplifting fusion of jazz, funk, soul, gospel, and R&B. Signed to Brownswood Recordings and handpicked by Gilles Peterson, their vibrant live shows have lit up festivals like Montreux and North Sea Jazz, earning a nomination for Breakthrough Act of the Year at the 2021 Jazz FM Awards.
