Antony Szmierek + Ellur + Astles
PPL, PRS Foundation and the Un-Convention present a very special evening of music, featuring three artists that have received PRS Foundation’s vital funding support and with a nod to celebrating 25 years of PRS Foundation.
Heading up the bill is Manchester-based poet, writer and producer Antony Szmierek (supported by International Showcase Fund to wow the crowds at SXSW in Austin in 2025). Cutting his teeth on the Manchester spoken word scene and gaining notoriety for his seamless flow skewering everything from the hardships of contemporary British life to finding the unexpected beauty in the everyday, it was the 2023 release of his single “The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Fallacy” that kicked off his meteoric ascent.
Support comes from Halifax’s finest Ellur and Liverpool-based Astles. Ellur’s debut US show at SXSW and first EU show at Reeperbahn 2025 were supported by the International Showcase Fund, with her recent full-length recording made possible by the PPL Momentum Music Fund. Astles has been supported by the targeted PPL Momentum Accelerator for the Liverpool City Region.
