MFF26: Trad Folk Work Song Workshop
The Traditional Exchange presents; Work Song. Developed by James Brown and Alastair Warner, this workshop will take you through a mix of work songs from all over the British and Irish isles, with industrial, naval, and agricultural settings, and all the way through done with the intent to give you the inspiration to adopt work song into your life. Joined by the flautist and singer Ella Evans, the three will take you on a tour of mills, mines, frigates, and fields in the hope that you too will join in the long tradition of Work Song. The Traditional Exchange is a Greater Manchester based project to highlight existing traditional cultural practice, to help coordinate different traditional arts groups towards collaboration, and to help run traditional culture events, workshops, and ceremonies.
