World-renowned guitarist Marcus Machado—hailed by Rolling Stone as “The Next Young Gun”—brings his explosive sound to Band on the Wall for the very first time, presenting a high-energy tribute to Jimi Hendrix alongside standout tracks from his acclaimed albums Aquarius Purple and Blue Diamonds.
A boundary-pushing virtuoso praised by Guitar World for redefining the edges of rock, funk and soul, Marcus has worked with José James, Anderson .Paak, Robert Glasper and Jon Batiste. His celebrated Hendrix tributes—previously selling out venues such as Café Wha? in New York and the Handel Hendrix House in London—now make their anticipated debut in Manchester.
Joining him are Francis Hylton of Incognito on bass and in-demand NYC drummer Joe Blaxx (Wynton Marsalis, Meshell Ndegeocello), forming a powerhouse trio set to honour one of the greatest guitarists of all time in an unforgettable debut performance at Band on the Wall.
